Friday 8/3/12 Workout
Today kept it simple
Trap bar Deadlifts: 10 sets of 10 w/ 405 lbs
10 sets of Standing Calf Raises supersetted w/ 10 sets of pull-ups (varying grips)
10 sets of Prowler
6 Hill Sprints in my front yard
Doesn’t look that bad written down, but it was a good one








With the prowler, you seen to grip very high on the posts. Does this give you an advantage/disadvantage in terms of leverage when you’re pushing? Also, are you wearing Vibram Fivefinger KSOs for that? I’ve found that the prowler has ripped several of the soles right off my shoes (rubber sole + rubber floor = sticky friction).

Bobby, by gripping higher the angle allows for greater friction so your feet hold the floor better…the lower you grip and the more severe the angle, the less traction you are going to get and the more likely your feet will slip. It’s fine for light weight, but once you put a certain amount of weight on there you’re better off gripping higher. I actually have wrestling shoes I use for the prowler, which work far better. These pics were taken right before I switched my shoes…the Vibrams are not great for the prowler. I tried doing one set with the Vibrams and then I put my wrestling shoes
