Again, always check with your veterinarian or an animal poison control center first prior to inducing vomiting. Sometimes it can be too late or can cause more harm if you induce vomiting inappropriately.

Cat owners should be aware of the following: There’s nothing you can safely give to CATS if they’ve eaten something poisonous. Products like salt, mustard, syrup of ipecac, and hydrogen peroxide aren’t safe to give in cats, and you need to seek immediate veterinary attention if your cat ate something poisonous. Your veterinarian has more effective drugs called alpha-adrenergic agonist drugs to help induce vomiting.

So, for dog owners, just how much hydrogen peroxide do we give? Keep in mind that you can give too much which can result in bloody vomiting and uncontrollable vomiting. You always want to use the correct amount. In general, the dose of hydrogen peroxide in dogs is approximately 0.5 – 1 ml per pound weight. If your dog weighs 50 pounds, you can give 25 – 50 mls of fresh, non-expired hydrogen peroxide orally, once. Keep in mind that 15 mls = 1 tablespoon (or 5 mls = 1 teaspoon), so this would be approximately 1.5 – 3.5 TBSP.

When in doubt, make sure you check with your veterinarian first. Always be safe and never rely on Dr. Google alone!

According to "The Pill Book Guide to Medication for Your Dog and Cat" (Kate A.W. Roby, VMD, et al, 1998), the usual dosage is given twice a day. The ratio is 5 to 10 milligrams per pound or 10 to 25 milligrams per kilogram. Amoxicillin is best given around mealtime to avoid any digestive problems. $300.00 for 25-50 pound dog

Adult dogs who weigh less than 10 pounds should eat 1/3 cup to 1 cup of food daily. Dogs that fall into the 11-25 pound category can expect 1 cup to 2 1/4 cups daily. If your dog weighs between 26 and 50 pounds, plan to portion out 2 1/4 cups to 3 3/4 cups of food into his or her dish daily. Larger dogs that tip the scale between 51 and 75 pounds should consume 3 3/4 cups to 5 cups of food daily, and those weighing in at more than 75 pounds should receive 5 cups to 8 cups of food each day.
A-D Caplets and EZ Chews

If you decide to use the EZ Chews or A-D caplets you should give your dog one 2 mg caplet or chew for every 25 – 50 lbs they weigh two to three times per day.

Multi-Symptom Relief

Imodium Multi-Symptom Relief tablets each contain 2 mg of loperamide and 125 mg of simethicone. Simethicone is safe for dogs and has been given at up to 8 grams without causing any serious side effects (just loose stools). This medicine is safe to use and should be dosed at one pill per 25 to 50 pounds of body weight.
While their owner was at work, two beagles got into a sampler box containing different types of chocolate pieces. Both dogs managed to eat about 3.5 ounces of chocolate. This is equivalent to a large or king-sized candy bar. The female dog, Rosie, really liked the white chocolate pieces and ate those exclusively. Reggie, her brother, ate the gourmet pieces that were made with 72 percent cocoa. Both dogs weigh approximately 25 pounds and were in good health when they ate the candy. Weight of this small dog is 12-25 pounds, height 15-17 inches with a life of 10-14 years. Well-mannered, playful, fairly easy to train, though can be stubborn. Good with other dogs, house pets and loves people. Somewhat tolerant with kids, good watchdog. Give Sentinel exactly as directed by your veterinarian. If you do not understand the directions ask your pharmacist or veterinarian to explain them to you. The usual dose of Sentinel for dogs 2 to 10 pounds is 1 Flavor Tab every month (Brown Box), 11 to 25 pounds is 1 Flavor Tab every month (Green Box), 26 to 50 pounds is 1 Flavor Tab every month (Yellow Box) and 51 to 100 pounds is 1 Flavor Tab every month (White Box). For dogs over 100 pounds give the appropriate combination of tablets. To ensure adequate absorption, always administer Sentinel to dogs immediately after or in conjunction with a normal meal. Heartworm testing should be performed prior to the start of prevention therapy. If your pet is off Sentinel for 6 months or less, re-start the medication and test after 6 months since microfilaria, that take 6 months to mature, will result in a positive test result. Store Sentinel in a dry place at controlled room temperature, between 59°-77°F (15°-25° C). Do not remove the tablet from its wrapper until ready to give the medicine. Keep this medication away from children and pets. Consult your veterinarian for pregnant or lactating dogs.25
My fav of the small dog breeds. Weight 12-16 pounds, height 12-14 inches, lifespan 12-15 years. Playful, affectionate, alert, inquisitive and very companionable. Need LOTS of human interaction. Lapdog. Once bonded, frightfully devoted to family. Sometimes get along with other dogs and house pets. They love people! Tolerant of children, excellent for seniors and a great watchdog. One of the best family pets around.
