For your pet's health, see your veterinarian regularly. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. Feeding Adult Dogs Most adult dogs can be fed once daily. However, when high activity or other factors create a higher feed intake, twice-a-day feeding is recommended. Dogs should be maintained in ideal body condition and not be allowed to become overweight. The food intake required to maintain ideal body condition will vary, depending on age, activity and environment. Consequently, the amount of food required for each dog will vary and should be adjusted accordingly. The daily feeding amount can be divided into 2-3 smaller servings throughout the day. Feeding Tip When switching your dog to Beneful IncrediBites dog food, please allow 7 - 10 days for the transition. Gradually add more Beneful IncrediBites and less of the previous food to your dog's dish each day until the changeover is complete. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets. Store in a cool place.

I have a very sick little boy on my hands & I believe I may have poisoned him by feeding him Beneful Dog food. My Oliver is a 9 yr old shih tzu. I had read all the reviews, seen all the recalls, check the Web in the past but still feed him the food in moderation. I have given him a couple handfuls of the dry food once a week since he was a baby. Because of some financial hardships in my family I started giving him the dry IncrediBites daily about 3 weeks ago. He seemed fine until today. Last night I decided to change it up a bit & gave him the dry mixed with a small 3 oz can of Beneful medley wet food. Within an hour of feeding him this combo he had what I would call hives. His lips & face swelled & he was itching everywhere. The Beneful dog food brand includes the following products and associated reviews:

My service Dog, Shadow. I started feeding her Beneful, due to the rave reviews and how healthy it was supposed to be. She was eating it for a short time. Then she wouldn't eat. Laid around a lot, did not want to do anything. I rescued dogs from NYC, where there were dog fighting rings. I would take the bait dogs, the dogs thrown in the middle. I know animals. So I palpated her stomach and found she was in a lot of pain, where her spleen was. I rushed her to the Vet's office, by that time it was too late. Her spleen had ruptured and she was bleeding internally. She died in my arms. My little girl. I had an autopsy done and then cremated her. She had been poisoned by the food. They found Propylene Glycol in her system. It was too late. It was from the food I had been feeding her. I will never forgive the company, you took my little girl from me.Now lets move on to consumer reviews. It would seem that there are a lot of pet owners that are rather unhappy with the product. According to Consumer Affairs, in the last 2.5 years there have been over 200 complains made about Beneful dog food.First, lets take a shallow dive into the nutritional aspect of Beneful Dry Dog food. DogFoodAdvisor specializes in breaking down the nutritional information that is provided by the dog food company themselves to reveal the true quality of the product.Beneful has tons of recalls on it and is making several dogs sick and dying. I switched my dog to a grain free food and he doesn't eat his poop, gained weight back and is active as ever. He will be 16 in April and I think the only reason why he is still alive is because of the food switch. It's never too late. Please switch off this terrible food to prevent thousands of dollars in vet bills and your best friend suffering. Rule of thumb for everyone, don't ever buy any pet food or treats from the grocery store, none of those foods are good quality, pet store only. Avoid Iams, Purina, Pedigree, Diamond, Cesar, Fromm. Go grain free it'll make their poop more solid and can be processed more easily. Please get smart and research everything you feed to your dog, it could save their life.
