She is probably allergic to Beneful and could have a light yeast infection-often that is why dogs lick their paws. Beneful is not a very high quality food-I feed my dogs foods that is made with human grade ingredients and I have tried everything. I look at digestion, quality of ingredients (not just the ingredients list), origin of ingredients, safety, quality control in a company. Beneful, Natura, Wellness and those selling at Petco, in the supermarket usually produce the food in large batches, which lowers the quality, and don’t do proper quality control, don’t use human grade ingredients, they often use meat which are not allowed for human consumption and they cook them at very high temperature which can then turn it into cancer causing substances and destroys vitamins. I could go on. I believe there are a few great brands out there, probably 10- you will have to order the food online or at a private pet store. If you chose to feed kibble, I found the best ones are Vet Pref./Health extension grain free, or any Fromm or Horizon dog food. Taste wise Vet Pref. is probably the best, then Fromm then Horizon, but health wise Horizon Pulsar is VERY good for allergies. It is a good idea to mix some canned food with the dry food when you feed the dog; maybe start off with a little bit of can only until she gets used to it. I would also top the kibble with some eggs, cooked vegetables, salad, fresh meat and fish oil. I”m trying to give you simple ideas to start off with. It is also a good idea to give the dog some raw- my dogs love NW natural Lamb or any of the Primal frozen foods the most-they won’t eat any other. You don’t want to mix raw with kibble, I simply give them for instance in the morning NW natural Lamb and in the evening I make my own raw or very lightly cooked meal for them and perhaps add some kibble. Or I give them some kibble in between as a snack. You can also give them freeze dried food instead of the raw frozen, such as for instance Ziwipeak, my dogs absolutely LOVE this! I also feed them Sojos the one with Turkey they absolutely love and I add some eggs and fresh vegetables, Fish oil etc. I hope this helps giving some ideas! Feeding only kibble is not the best, I would def. add some fresh food with it, even canned food-for instance Merrick, Fromm, Halo etc. Halo by the way is also a decent brand, so is Brothers from what I hear! These are companies with foods they provide the dog great digestion.

I buy my raw dog food from a very reputable butcher who only business is in raw pet food. They only sell organic meat- chicken, lamb, turkey, duck & beef (which I do not feed my dogs) The meat is ground up – bones & all. It is the best food for my dogs. I am very careful when handling the raw meat as I would if I were handling any raw meat. Just a little common sense is all that is needed.
