Inspired by the end-of-the-year holiday season, our designer went beyond and created this gorgeous Fair Isle style sweater for your lovely pooch in this special time of the year. This Fair Isle style dog sweater is ideal for winter and autumn time when your pooches need some extra care. Expertly crafted from the soft acrylic material, this sweater features a timeless Fair Isle pattern throughout the sweater in a handpicked color combination of midnight blue and cream. This is a master piece that represents classic with contemporary kicksand characters. The best part is that we have magically managed to add the golden tinsel threads all over the pattern for a fancy holiday look. I have quite a few hand knitted jumpers in my wardrobe. Sometimes, it’s difficult to know which one to wear when I’m planning a walk with my dog, Badger. However, until today, poor Badger only had one black fleece from which to choose! After numerous comments from friends and family about the paucity of knitwear in Badger’s wardrobe, I decided to create for him the ultimate Fair Isle sweater!THIS IS A KNITTING PATTERN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas with a modern twist! Dress your doggy in this colorful colorwork sweater featuring Santas and snowflakes in shades of aqua, turquoise, red, white, royal blue and two shades of pink. You can even use a bit of angora on Santa’s beard and in the pompon on his hat. To add an adorable touch for a little girl, a red-and-white striped sewn skirt can be added.

This fair isle knitting pattern, suitable for the experienced knitter and extreme little-dog-lover, uses seven shades of worsted-weight yarn, size US 6 and 7 straight or circular needles plus size 6 circular needles and DPNs, and has a finished chest measurement of approximately 11-12 (13-14, 14-15, 16-17, 17-18)”.

The sweater in these pictures is knitted with Cascade 220 in Christmas Red, Mint, Blue Hawaii, Blue Velvet, Soft Pink, Cotton Candy and White. I also used a bit of Plymouth Angora in white for Santa's beard and the pompon on his hat.

The pattern includes a chart for the fair isle pattern.

*** NOTE: This and all patterns created by My Savannah Cottage are for personal use only. Items created using these patterns are not to be sold on Etsy or elsewhere. The collection, which originally began as a April Fool's joke that just happened to be popular, features "pupper" vests, graphic beanies with slogans like "selfie," and (my personal favorite) tiny fair isle sweaters that have matching human versions. We're talking about puppy-sized fair isle sweaters for cute dogs that just so happen to match human-size sweaters. If that's not enough to get you into the holiday spirit right this second, I don't know what is. My most popular for-sale sweater design is the “Christmas Trees” fair isle dog sweater seen here on Willie. I made the original sample back in 2007 before releasing the pattern, and it worked out fine for me. Recently, I was commissioned to make the sweater again, this time for a little Yorkie in Germany. I have discovered a few errors, and also have come up with some solutions to make the sweater easier to knit, so I have revised the pattern. It includes a new chart and some differences in sizing and stitch counts. The new pdf has been e-mailed to everyone who has purchased the pattern from me this year. I do not have e-mail addresses for previous buyers, but if you’ll e-mail me () or message me here with your Etsy transaction number or a cut-and-paste excerpt from your original pattern, I will be happy to send you a new version of the pattern.
