Nash is a charming 3-month-old, 5-pound Chihuahua mix puppy with a happy, playful and affectionate personality. He came to AFRP from the Salinas Animal Shelter after being picked up as a stray with a broken leg. Happily, Nash healed like a champ and he's feeling great! Currently in foster are, Nash is crate trained, is learning to walk on the leash and gets along great with other dogs and cats. He learns quickly and is almost completely potty trained. Nash has lots of playful puppy energy and an abundance of kisses and wags to share with a person of his own. Puppy obedience class registration required for adoption. Interested in meeting Nash?

Friends of the Pound raises funds to purchase the necessary supplies for the puppies and dogs in the Stark County Dog Pound, which are not provided by the county. But we can always use the help of the community to provide more “Wish-List” items. It's up to the Pound Puppies to find a home for a dog who is convinced he's nothing but bad luck.

I confess, I am a die-hard fan of the Pound Puppies. Fortunately, this TV show stayed true to the franchise most everyone forgot. Like the 1980's version of the cartoon, there are likable characters on the show. There's Lucky(Voiced by Eric McCormack from Will and Grace), the leader of the group; Cookie(Voiced by Yvette Nicole Brown from Drake and Josh), the tough but kind-hearted Boxer; Niblet(Voiced by John De Maggio from Futurama), the goofy, food-loving sheepdog; Strudel(Voiced by Alana Ubach from Rango), the intelligent dachshund; Squirt(Voiced by Michael Rapaport), the small but street-smart chihuahua; Olaf(Voiced by M. Emmet Walsh), the dogcatcher; and McLeish(Voiced by Rene Auberjonois, who you may recognized as the voice of the Poodle and Pierre in the 1980's version of the Pound Puppies and as Louis, the French Chef from the Little Mermaid), the owner of the pound. To be honest with you, I like this TV Series and there's no changing my opinion from that point on. Bottom Line: The animation is nice, the character design is good, this TV series stayed true to the 1980's TV series of the same name, and all the characters are likable. The Pound Puppies investigate why people are returning their pups to the pound and find that the landlord of an apartment has a no-dogs-allowed policy.Howler (Pug/Dalmatian mix) – Howler is the inventor of the Pound Puppies squad. His inventions often solve the teams' problems. His trademark red derby comes with a mechanical hand that helps him invent or read a book when he has his hands full. As his name implies, he often howls after the end of his sentences or at the end of an episode. In season 1, Howler often stutters in his sentences, which is backed up by his howling. In season 2, Howler is generally not the spotlight puppy and has appeared in fewer episodes than he did in Season 1. In the season 1 episode , Howler was accused of stealing the Pound Puppies beloved items. He ran away from Holly's Puppy Pound and befriended a homeless dog named Spudge. While looking for food, they were almost kidnapped by Captain Slaughter. Fortunately, Howler's friends were able to save him and Spudge. Afterward, Howler was happy to be back with his friends. In Pound Puppies and the Legend of Big Paw, Howler wore a green derby (red in the TV series), a red shirt with short sleeves (yellow in the TV series), and had brown curly hair (yellow in the TV series) and is not the bravest puppy of the group. Voiced by . He was originally voiced by in the Pound Puppies TV special and only howls. In Pound Puppies and the Legend of Big Paw, Howler was voiced by and his howling vocal effects were provided by .
