The CCPDT is the world’s only independent testing and certification organization for dog trainers and dog behavior consultants. Part of our mission is to give dog owners a way to identify professional dog trainers and behavior consultants, and we do this through our designations.
The CCPDT certifications tell you a number of things about the dog training professionals who hold them:

The CCPDT offers independent certification to dog training and behavior professionals and is an organization of “certificants.” Certificants have taken and passed one of our examinations, and continue to recertify to retain the credential. APDT (Association of Professional Dog Trainers) is an education-focused organization of “members.” Members are individuals with an interest in the goals of the organization, who pay annual membership dues to participate. CATCH Canine Trainers Academy is a state-licensed , with many levels of certification to choose from, and the ability to take each course at your own pace.You have to be a graduate of Animal Behavior College, Inc. (ABC) in order to apply.
ABC created the ABCDT-L2 certification to stand independently from the Animal Behavior College Dog Trainer (ABCDT) certification, which requires graduation from ABC’s Dog Obedience Instructor Training Program. This will enable ALL experienced dog trainers to apply for the ABCDT-L2 certification. It is the goal of ABC to recognize and award an ABCDT-L2 designation to all dog trainers who have achieved the experience and knowledge in this profession. ABC is serious about education!
