Very well put. First of all, I am very very sorry to anyone that had their dog or cat suffer from this incident. I have fed taste of the wild as well as raw meaty bones and meats in the past 12 months. Around January 2012, I switched to raw foods and Kirkland foods, and due to a job loss, I coincidentally, switched in April 2012 to Kirkland only foods. I did not know about the recall at that time but luckily I am in California where apparently, there was no impact. That said, my 3 dogs have done very well on the Kirkland chicken/Lamb and rice kibble. In fact, I do not notice any difference between Kirkland and TOTW or raw foods. This incident was a total shame. However, I feel that the food itself is a high quality food— just read the label. In fact, the Kirkland one is a bit better than the regular Diamond blend as it has Glucosamine and Chondroiton added. I hope that Diamond has learned a big lesson here and that they do a flawless job from here on out. It is not enough to offer a quality food at a good price… The food must also be 100% safe as we feed it to our Canine family members .
LEARN YOUR LESSON DIAMOND. Although I support your food and buy it, you are walking a thin line with me due to this past incident. In addition, Anyone that lost their pet or had their pet get ill due to Diamond foods should of had a personal apology from Diamond and be compensated in some way.

We started feeding our two dogs Kirkland dog food. The first bag seemed good. The second bag we fed them a few days and they started throwing up, having diarrhea laced with blood. We took them to a veterinarian and they sent us to Loomis Vet Hospital. They were put on IV and antibiotics. It was over $2,000.00. The doctor said she wanted us to get the dog food tested. I went to Costco with a bag of the food with all the label info. I got a call from Costco administration and they wanted more info on the dog food bag. I took multiple pictures and sent the information. I got a call and they said they couldn't find anything wrong, they were sorry for the experience, and sent me a Costco gift card. We are so glad our dogs didn't die. We will never buy Costco dog food again. have been safer eating the label itself instead of the Kirkland dog food.

I have bought three varieties of Costco's KIRKLAND Brand dog-food: the puppy mix and the chicken/rice/vegetables and lamb/rice/vegetable mix for adult dogs. The nutritional composition of each matches, then surpasses the even the best national brands. If you compare labels for protein percentages: the puppy food contains 28 % protein, the chicken/vegetable/rice adult dog foods contain 26% protein, and the lamb/rice/vegetable adult dog mix contains 23% protein. PLUS Kirkland has a HEART-HEALTHY mix of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. And, Kirkland's adult dog food contains a JOINT-HEALTHY mix of Glucosamine and Chondroitin sulfate.Kirkland Dog Food is a private-label brand that is only available in the large retail store, Costco.
