Purchase or repurpose a large, shallow plastic storage bin from a home improvement store, or use a large metal tray from the bottom of a large dog kennel. While you could theoretically build your own giant litter box from wood, it’s likely to retain odors and moisture and will quickly become ineffective.

If the idea of pee sitting around your home until you have time to clean it sounds unappealing, the may be the dog bathroom solution for you. It comes in 3 sizes so suitable for small, medium and large dogs. This is a tray with synthetic grass on top and a unique collection tray that directs urine to a collection tray that they call the Pee Pod. You can just take the collected urine and rinse out the collection tray (make sure to add a little water or baking soda to the tray to dilute the odor). There are some issues with the grass topper being too cheap but people love the system if they replace the cheap grass it comes with . If you want this option, the that absorbs the pee and turns it immediately into a gel that traps odors. It seems to work well for trapping odors so when you can't clean the dog toilet immediately and don't want the urine to stink up your place, it may be a great option to try. OVERVIEW: Pet Loo Pet Toilet from PetSafe (made by a company that specializes in doggie items) comes in three different sizes; small, medium, and large. The large measures inches by 33 inches, the medium 24 inches by 24 inches, and the small 17 inches by 17 inches. The large size box is best for most dog sizes, as it’s only a little under nine square feet of grass area. The fake grass is held in place with clips and then the urine passes through the fake grass into a tray, which is slanted to funnel it directly into the collection bin.Entrance – Quite an important thing to consider which depends greatly on what size dog you have. If you have a small dog, you are best off going for a top entrance litter tray as a small breed of dog will struggle to jump up and get into the litter tray whereas a large dog could just tower above the box and poke their head down through the entrance. If you have a large dog, then the best option would be a side door as a large, cumbersome dog would be unable to enter through the first entrance due to their size. The dog would also be unable to poke their neck through the second inner opening as they are staggered on different sides of the box. These trays are essentially litter box with 4 solid walls and an entry hole on the roof. This design makes it easy for an acrobatic cat to jump up and enter, while the less acrobatic dog would struggle to climb up. This is, of course, subject to the size of the dog – would struggle even to fit inside the hole. Some large dogs that tower over the litter box would (in theory) be able to poke their head inside the entrance. These types of litter boxes are ideal for people with small and medium size dogs.
