My dog died on September 24, 2013. He was a beautiful, healthy, happy dog up until Sept. 20/13 - the day we opened a brand new bag of Iams Proactive Health Mature Adult (29.1 lb) bag. I live in Toronto, Canada and the recall from August was never issued here, even though our Iams products are imported from Cincinnati, Ohio. Therefore had I known of it, I never would have purchased this food. My dog ate 2 meals from it on September 20/13 and then refused it the next morning. By the nighttime, I couldn't understand it so I coaxed him into eating this food for dinner by adding water and sitting by him. That was at 7:00pm and by 3:30am, he had thrown all of it up. He then continued to throw up all through the morning and throughout the day, to the point that he was throwing up foam and saliva.

My dogs have been eating Iams for several years. I recently changed to the Iams natural and they have had diarrhea and vomiting for the past few days. Today they both just refused to eat. They wanted nothing to do with the food. It has been in their bowls for the entire day. I decided to search online. Thank goodness I found this info. No more Iams for my dogs. It would have been great to at least put on the bag there were new additives. Jun 8, 2015 - Here are (3) new Iams pet food coupons that you can use to save $6 on dry dog and cat food! I got a new puppy 2 weeks ago. I decided to purchase Iams because I thought it was a decent middle of the road dog food. Almost immediately my puppy started vomiting and having diarrhea. I changed to plain chicken and pumpkin for 3 day. No vomiting or diarrhea, I just fed him 1/2 cup of Iams and was sick all over again. Foamy, slimy vomit and diarrhea. I feel horrible, he's so sick. Never again will I feed any of my animals Iams!I have been feeding my Yorkie this dog food since I got him 5 years ago with no problems, the Boxer for 1 year same results. I bought a new 30 pound bag of Iams Proactive Health Mini Chunks Friday March 31, 2017 and today April 2, 2017 the Yorkie is Picking and Bloody Slim and the Boxer is puking it all so far. They haven't eaten anything different so it has to be this dog food. Someone needs to investigate this and put out a recall on this pet food in my opinion!!! Guess I will be trying to find something different to Feed my pets.PLEASE SHARE! IAMS DOG FOOD KILLED OUR DOGS! This is our story based on our experience. On Sunday 1/3/2016 we woke up to a nightmare. Our 7 yr old pug Daisy was deceased in her bed and our 10 yr old pug Danny barely hanging on. Three days before they were fed from a brand new bag of IAMS Proactive Health Adult dog food. The food was ingested late afternoon on new year's eve and new year's day morning Daisy started vomiting and Danny was soon to follow. On 1/2/2016 we took our pugs to the vet. They were violently ill and in so much pain they couldn't lay down and barely sit. We followed the vet's instructions and they were also administered medications along with some sent home. Daisy had fluids injected into her back. Tests were ran and blood work was sent out but wouldn't be received until Monday. We didn't know this would be too late. Sunday morning in fact was the worst morning in our lives. Iams for large breed and Iams weight restriction Rx foods - I got my dog a Dane/Lab mix over 3 years ago, she was 16 months old. I first put her on Iams after owning her for 3 months as she did not like the Beneful. She has been on Iams for large breed for 3 years, no issues or problems and everyone comments on how beautiful and shiny her coat is! She has had normal bowel movements twice a day. I switched Madison to Iams weight restriction when she started having pain and limping in her left knee and had some mild hip dysplasia and I and the vet knew she had gained too much weight. I had broken my foot twice and was less active, making her less active. I mixed the new food with her old food until she was use to it. She loves the new stuff and in 4 months is down 8 pounds with only 5 more to go.
