Peabody is a clever, witty, and extremely intelligent dog who saves Sherman from a group of bullies and adopts him after realIzIng how unfair hIs orphanage was. He treats Sherman like his pet and underling, gives Sherman pennies as an allowance, and hardly ever smiles. However, he shows he appreciates Sherman to some extent as he built the WABAC for him on hIs birthday. Peabody often scolds Sherman when he slips up but in the end treats Sherman fairly and wishes to give him a bright future like his own.

One of the Yale Peabody Museum’s more unusual, and probably unique, collections is the Leon F. Whitney Dog Collection in the known in the 1930s as the “Dog Hall of Fame.” When we first heard about the Mr. Peabody & Sherman movie reboot we weren't that thrilled. But then we witnessed Modern Family dad Ty Burrell transform into the white dog of our youth. And it works. Watch. It was hoped that eventually the collection would include one or twoprime specimens from each of the 85 or 90 breeds recognized by theAmerican Kennel Club (and also samples of the various wild dog-likespecies). Using show catalogs as well as his knowledge of the dogworld, Dr. Whitney picked the champions he wanted and wrote to theirowners requesting that, when the dogs died of disease, injury or oldage, they be sent to the Yale Peabody Museum. By 1943, 49 champions hadbeen received, 12 had been mounted (skins and skeletons) and put ondisplay, and 32 others had been promised.Roles are reversed in the upcoming Rocky and Bullwinkle spinoff, Mr. Peabody and Sherman. Mr. Peabody is the world’s smartest dog and Sherman is his adopted human boy. Together they’ll get into time traveling adventures, with characters voiced by the likes of Ty Burrell, Allison Janney, Stephen Colbert, Leslie Mann, Stanley Tucci, Patrick Warburton, Lake Bell and Dennis Haysbert.Mr. Peabody is a cartoon dog who appeared in the late 1950s and early 1960s television animated series Rocky and His Friends and The Bullwinkle Show, produced by Jay Ward. Peabody appeared in the "Peabody's Improbable History" segments created by Ted Key, and was voiced by Bill Scott. In 2014, he was featured in a computer-animated film Mr. Peabody & Sherman. Since 2015, he appears in the new TV series based on the film.
