There are individuals whose respect for a specific breed of dog goes far beyond a fanciful whim. These people-known as breeders, are individuals who devote themselves to their dogs, mindfully choosing breeding pairs and traveling to weekend events to showcase their dogs in confirmation or intelligence categories. When these breeders breed a litter of puppies, they are selective about who takes them and firm about their convictions concerning their puppy's care. If you do not respect their astute supervision, and choose to look elsewhere for a dog, perhaps from a less demanding breeder or pet store or online, you may pay the price. Poorly bred purebreed dogs are more prone to ailments and/or congenital disease that will cost you in expense and heartache.

A strictly volunteer licensed corporation, not for profit, Adopt A Pup was established in 2012 and is dedicated to saving homeless, stray, and unwanted dogs not only in Michigan but throughout the Midwest. In its first month as an active rescue, Adopt A Pup has rescued and/or rehomed over 100 dogs and puppies. We are not for profit.Fostering: We are a strictly foster-based rescue which means we do not have a kennel or other facility where we can temporarily keep our rescued animals. Our GREATEST need is foster homes for dogs and puppies. We will do our best to match you up with a foster dog that is a good fit for your household, so we will ask you to complete a brief questionnaire. Adopt A Pup covers the vetting, and can assist with food and supplies. It would be helpful and appreciated if fosters could cover some food and supplies. You may also be asked to drive the foster dog to the vet.PUP Dog Rescue is a volunteer driven 501(c)(3) registered, non-profit organization located in Washington state and specializing in small and toy breed dogs. We work in collaboration with shelters, other rescue groups, and individuals; both locally and nationally. and saves lives. or and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group. Our grant money was used to provide vet care for our rescued pups, including Banjo, Benson, KC, Sammi, Rio, Sid and Jewells.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting our rescue work. We were beyond thrilled to be selected for this grant, as we spent several days in San Monica for the taping of the Cause for Paws!

Lucky Pup Dog Rescue rescues the most desperate of the desperate from San Bernardino County shelters, many times dogs that other rescues don't choose because of the expense of the vetting and health issues. The dogs we rescue tend to stay with us for extended periods of time while they heal. We aren't high-volume, but rather select dogs who have little or no hope of being saved. We pull and transport them to safety in San Diego, about 100 miles away. And PUP Dog Rescue will be there spreading the word about the importance of "Adopt Before You Shop" and sharing information about their adoption and fostering opportunities.
