Thank you very much for your response. Jack, my 9 month old yellow Labrador Retriever, is my very first dog. Jack is currently on the Hills Prescription GI Food, per the veterinarian for 5 weeks. They suggested the Purina Pro Plan Select Adult Sensitive Skin and Stomach Formula (Salmon). I am not enthused with the ingredients. How do you feel about the Primal Raw Turkey and Sardine dog food? Is this easy on dog’s digestive system? The review looks very good and makes logical sense. The ingredients are all natural and after all, dogs are carnivores. Please advise.

We recommend that you keep your dog in ideal body condition and not allow him to become overweight. The exact amount of food your dog requires will need to be adjusted according to age, activity and environment. But a good place to start is with these guidelines for an average, active, adult dog fed once daily.
Although you'll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your dog, please allow seven to ten days to ease the transition from his current food. This will help prevent dietary upsets. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more of Pro Plan until you're feeding Pro Plan exclusively.
Nourish your dog's sensitive skin and stomach. It's important to know that the food you choose for your dog will help keep him healthy, happy and feeling extraordinary. Purina Pro Plan FOCUS Sensitive Skin & Stomach supports his total well-being through a highly digestible formula with prebiotic fiber to maintain intestinal balance to promote digestive health. Formulated to support total well-being. Ingredients include Egg, Fish Oil, Oat Meal, Salmon and Natural Prebiotic Fiber. Purina Pro Plan Select is a plant-based dry dog food using a moderate amount of poultry or salmon as its main sources of animal protein, thus earning the brand 3 stars.Ok, I got on here 4 months ago and asked why dogs on Pro Plan look so good if the food is terrible. I admit, I have been a complete Purina hater for 4 years because I spent so much time researching dog food and convinced myself that the food is terrible. After-all its what people on the internet tell you. For four years my dogs NEVER ate a food with corn, wheat, soy or by products. I rotated between brands often. Iv used Dr Tims, Fromm, Victor, Annamaet, Canidae, Diamond, Taste of the Wild, and 4Health. My dogs did fine on them all and looked good. I have three labs and they all hated Canidae though. Because I wanted to actually see how my three labs would look and perform on Pro Plan, I gave it a try 3 months ago, and only fed them 30/20 chicken or 30/20 Salmon. They are very active everyday. After three months, they look great. There is no difference in their shinny appearance, but they ALL have a softer coat, they just do They do NOT poop excessively, only twice a day. Stools are fine, teeth, gums, eyes, hair, nails are fine. My small lab has ALWAYS had a rumbling stomach a couple times a week for years. Iv tried many different probotics, supplements, help her, took her to the Vet. Nothing ever helped. Since shes been eating Pro Plan, there has never had a rumbling belly ever. They do not eat anymore food than the other brands, 3 cups for the small lab and 3.5 for the two bigger ones. AS MUCH as I wanted to hate this food, I just cant, its works well for us. Im just a regular guy with a regular budget that tried things for himself. I have nothing against any of the brands Iv fed and do understand that the ingredients in Pro Plan dont look as good, but I cant argue with my results.
